Here's the song from that shoe commercial!
I'll admit it, I wasn't familiar with it until I started seeing the ad all the time.

Pink Floyd was trending on Twitter over the weekend for a kinda zany reason but more importantly this year is going to be the 50th anniversary of Dark Side of the Moon.
So...you can perhaps taste the 80's dripping off this video...The guys are wearing trench coats from the times, shades, sax, "electric" sounding drums, etc and it's from a Michael J Fox movie. Plus I'll add Night Ranger were almost the Nickleback of there time in the sense that they were really popular, but considered corny. Having said that, this is a pretty good pop song and definitely catchy.
Of course, their most popular song is Sister Christian

There's a Kraft Cheese commercial out there now and the music totally reminds me of this song. It could be coincidence or it could be "we couldn't get the rights/don't wanna pay so let's just rip it off" situations...
I've read different things about how it's about the music biz or that it's about leaving Genesis, but it's abstract enuff that it could be about a number of things the listener brings to it.

Bee Gees sing Beatles Please Please Me!
^Robin and Maurice are adorable there!
I was going down a hard rock rabbit hole on Youtube, ended up on 'Dazed & Confused' as interpreted by the Yardbirds, prior to it being tweaked into the version everyone knows from Zep.
Take my dreams, childish and weak at the seams
Please don't analyze, please just be there for me
RIP Tina! I know I've posted this version of the song before and no disrespect to Michelle Branch, but this should have been the official release. Tina and Santana...
Tina doing "Whole Lotta Love"
Sounds like the theme to an imaginary exploitation movie...and I'm totally here for it!

Ike and Tina doing Can't Turn You Loose
I came across this recently and remembered in the early days of this thread we talked about banned Scorpions album covers. This guy mentions one of them and covers a broader range that includes Beatles and Janes Addiction.
Neil Young and Devo doing "Hey Hey, My My" from a film by Neil called Human Highway ( which I have not seen )
If these politicians are going to start talking about Pat Benatar, they better start putting some respect on her name!
