    Default Deadpool Series - Foolkiller

    Hey!

I'm really getting into Foolkiller and it would seem that he appears in the Deadpool (2015) series, but they seem hard to get/expensive despite only just coming out, so before I actually go and get them... Does Foolkiller really play a part? I presume he has a larger part in Mercs for Money.

He plays the part of supporting character, and the background as a Therapist starts there. I wouldn't say he plays a major part though, as he's just a member of the ensemble cast.

I thought Foolkiller was a good premise. Getting arrested by SHIELD, working as their therapist, and his boss killing whoever he wants. You have to wonder what is going on here? Where has this Gary Span, the SHIELD boss, come from, why is he able to operate like this with impunity, and what has Span done to Foolkiller? The whole premise behind the book is so off, in that it doesn't have any connection to what SHIELD should be doing. Why hasn't Maria Hill weeded out this kind of rogue character in Gary Span? The other thing it brings to mind is, what has SHIELD become post-CWII? If this kind of operation exists in the MU, then it is the Wild West, and maybe that is Marvel slipping in the Trump era into the comics now.

Myself, I think Foolkiller, a therapist, is the main story here, but he is being manipulated by Span, so things are flying out of control, as Foolkiller has just killed one of his patients. This reminds me of Secret War by Bendis, where SHIELD agents were pretty brutal and autonomous, and could do anything to those they kidnap off the streets they want. They intimated a bit of this when in Secret War one criminal, Shocker, wanted to do work for SHIELD, and Foolkiller went this exact same way here.
