We have some bad days sometimes that we could even hurt our loved ones.

No, we don't all have those days. There's a difference. We can hurt loved ones emotionally, by saying something thoughtless or hurtful. That's not the same as punching someone in the face. He over-reacted; somewhat understandable, given the nature of his fans. That still doesn't mean it wasn't extreme and violent. I've worked in the public sector for years and have had people get to close and even grab my hand to make a point. i just pulled my hand away or put some distance between them and myself, without turning it into a donnybrook. Comes with maturity, knowing when to use force and how much to apply, without overdoing it.
