Lou Rawls recorded such a vast catalog of albums that I am using an app to keep track of which ones I already own to prevent buying them double.

The Isaac Hayes song that Geto Boys sampled: Hung Up On My Baby, is another good one.

Being that this is 10 years ago, I guess it technically qualifies. One of my favorites from Kid Cudi:

Apparently, Mary Wells covered this early Prince tune before Chaka Khan did, but it didn't make it onto her 1983 album and wasn't released until 2013 as a bonus track on the CD release of the album.

Wow! I did not know this. Still like the Chaka Khan version better, but to tell the truth I didn't even know it was a Prince song. I can totally hear it now, though!

Feel good vibes with this one:

Another thing that's worth mentioning about the backlash against disco is that there was also a certain about of class conflict involved. When Studio 54 was big there was this perception that this was the place that rich people and Hollywood elites hung out at. Some folks that rebelled against the genre saw themselves as rebelling against "The Man."
