His music combined a lot of different elements of R+B, jazz, latin music and rock. I think the industry couldn't pigeon hold him and thus promote him properly. I mean, he had a few hits, but I think he could've been much bigger with the right push.

No shade, but I couldn't help but always think of Kid Creole as a one hit wonder, at least here in Holland. The only song of his that gets airplay is Annie I'm Not Your Daddy, which almost sounds like a novelty song. Going over the Dutch chart history, turns out he had more singles released here, they just wont play those any more on the radio.

Been really feeling this one lately. Tyrese is in this video, and would also be featured on Chingy's song 'Pulling Me Back' about a decade later, which samples this beat. Just a lovely 90s R&B love ballad.

I just learned that SWV used to go by the name TLC (after the girls first names Taj/Lelee/Coko [or in full: Tamara/Leanne/Cheryl]), but the 'other' TLC got signed under that name before they did.

I'm listening to Dangerous for the first time, and I'm a bit amazed at how hard some of these album tracks hit. MJ was really killing it on those Teddy Riley new jack swing beats.

'This guy' has a couple Jodeci tickets tonight for the Classic Cabaret. Last time I saw them was 1995 and Notorious B.I.G. was on the bill, so been a while. BBD is gonna be there too and never seen them, Poison came out when I was in 9th grade for scale. And oddly S.O.S. Band too, no Mary Davis after suffering a stroke not long ago. Everybody older so we'll see. Gonna be good to have some live music in my face after a long time.

I'm kinda jealous Surf, hope they put on a great show. I've been bumping quite a lot of NE and all their spinoff and solo projects.
