Letitia Wright weighs in on Shuri officially being a Disney Princess

“I was like, ‘what’s this Disney Princess pressure? Do I have to be perfect?’” said Wright. “Then I realized that everyone’s just so geeked about having a different kind of female character in the Marvel universe and the Disney universe. And there’s going to be much, much more – I’m not the only Disney Princess to come to the surface and claim that title.”
As the daughter of Wakanda’s former king, T’Chaka, and sister of T’Challa, Shuri has royal blood a plenty. In fact, in the Marvel universe, when T’Challa sustained critical injuries in battle with Doctor Doom (in Reginald Hudlin’s 2009 Black Panther series), she even took over the Black Panther mantle herself. Wright alluded to this over the weekend when asked if Shuri could step into Wakanda’s leadership role after T’Challa’s unfortunate Infinity War situation. “To be comic-book accurate, yes,” she said.
So there’s no doubt her royal claim is legit.
And with Disney ultimately owning Marvel, that makes Shuri not just a Marvel princess, but a Disney one as well. And while that’s historic, considering the somewhat lacking line of representation in Disney's history, Shuri is not technically the first Disney Princess of African descent; that would be Tiana, from 2009’s The Princess and the Frog.
Still, representation matters, and the honor is not lost on Wright. “I’m so honored, seriously. I grew up on the Disney movies and grew up with the Disney Princesses and they didn’t really look like me. But now, you can go buy action figures and say ‘this is a Disney Princess’ – right on!”
Letitia Wright is inspiring a generation of young women in STEM

"I got a lot of messages, especially from young women, who were so happy to see themselves on screen, they were so happy to see someone making science and technology cool," Wright tells Mashable. Shuri's draw, Wright feels, is just how down-to-earth and relatable her character is. She's super smart, yes, but she's hip and cool, too.
"Shuri is appealing and inspiring to so many women around the world because she's just relatable, she's like, a princess but everything about her is 'girl next door,'" Wright says. "So many young girls saw themselves like, that's me, that's how I pick on my brother, that's how I think about things, that's how I get excited about creating."

Well, we got our answer to what is going on in Wakanda.
This movie synergy literally makes zero sense.
"Shuri is happiest in a lab, surrounded by gadgets of her own creation. She’d rather be testing gauntlets than throwing them. But a nation without a leader is a vulnerable one — and Shuri may have to choose between Wakanda’s welfare and her own
That sounds nothing like comic Shuri.

Marvel needs to use Infinity Wars and fix Coates' mess.
Just reboot Wakanda/Black Panther based on Narcisse's Year One and I guess use this version of Shuri.
I'm totally fine with that.
Pull List:

They basically blended in Griot Shuri and MCU Shuri, looks wise. Works for me
Lol, not at all. Hopefully the book makes more sense than the solicit.
Just reread the synopsis. Sounds like they are literally mashing up Comics Shuri and MCU Shuri all the way: from the look to the personality. Yet, it’s suppose to fit with the Coates run (and Coates run is supposed to fit in wit over BP continuity)?
Also, the part where Shuri has to pick between her own welfare and that of Wakanda? Shuri made that decision many times, including the Coates run.
Again, hoping the book will make much more sense than the synopsis itself.
