This looks interesting. The art & writing is not 100% solid but I do want to read more. I like the way Shuri looks and comes across, and I like this look for the Dora's as well.
We are the Dora Milaje. We are the daughters of the 18 tribes of Wakanda. We are the teeth of the Panther God. Out of 10,000 years of sweat and bloodshed and battle are we born. We are the women of this ancient land. Deadliest of the species. And our time has come!

Indeed. I also just noticed the Dora uniform as well, its pretty good.

The preview is quite intriguing. Will give WoW #2 a look.

Just noticed that one of Shuri's weapons from Lego Avengers (the lightning rod thing) is actually from the Mayberry run.

IDK if there are any shuri fans who don't visit the BP thread but the second part of the Panther Powers series heavily involves Shuri of course

    Good read.

And yea, whatever happened to Flea? I felt he was good character, for what he was.

I like Srelfreeze for giving poc characters different physcial appearances and skin tones. So as much as I like an 'on time comic', the current artists bring no variety or sense of movement in the current run.

And I can do without the cartoonish stars pops when Black Panther punches/kicks somebody.

prolly gonna take a break on these more... research intense articles for a a little bit now lol.

the relationship with Doom is likely the next project unless I decide to do Namor instead. But I bet I can get the other appreciation threads to help with that. Shuris a big part of both of those projects obviously.

I finished 5 more parts today (tribal challenges, rite of ascension, and 3 killmonger centered parts)... its all down hill after that. Probably add Shuri's recent power up from Coates once details are fleshed out a bit.

I def like Stelfreeze's art a lot but the delays are a bit problematic.

Perhaps Stelfreeze may have to do like Coates and turn his pencils and inks in early, like Coates does his scripts. It could work in theory, as Coates usually turns in his scripts well ahead of time.

The Doom one should be interesting as it turns out T'Challa and Doom go back, even pre-Priest if I remember correctly.

Shuri's relationship with Doom seems, imho, a bit by proxy, as Dooms main beef is with T'Challa. Her relationship with Namor is much more personal, you could sense the contempt they have for each other by the time the Hickman run kicks of the Wakanda-Atlantis war.

Shuri and Namor are both too... hot headed? arrogant? to be in the same room together for too long lol.

T'challa is more chill... Namor can drop sarcastic remarks all day and he would just roll his eyes. Shuri would try to break his jaw after like the second comment lol

And yeah... Doom/T'challa is pre Priest by a long shot

I think Maeberry did a pretty descent job as far as setting up Shiri as,her own character. He created some new rogues just for her, a new supporting cast just for her, and her own unique tool set of gear and weapons. He laid down a descent foundation to build upon.

I liked Maberry's take on BP. His DoomWar should have had a better ending and the artwork for "Klaws" was terrible, but overall I liked his run. As others have mentioned, I liked the supporting cast given to Shuri including Flea and the rest of P.R.I.D.E. I also liked the introduction of Mistress Aneka and the reformatting of the Dora Milaje from personal bodyguards to Royal Army. The original Midnight Angels and Shadow Physics were nice additions. I also liked Ohyaku and the Desturi.
