Comics for ya, lol. If we saw even a fourth of the stuff going on in comics happening in real life--include how some of them speak--we would be flabbergasted lol.

That being said, I don't mind the prose style much, especially being that it got better as issues went on. It's very different than what I'm used to as far as comics are concerned, but I guess its become something of an acquired taste at this point.

So with this read Shuri states that she is 20 years old in it. Considering T'Challa's age while Ramonda was pregnant with Shuri, T'Challa in theory then should be around maybe 27-30 at most?

Perhaps, although Mayberry was fumbling with continuity a bit in his run. For example, in the Hudlin run Shuri said that she studied nuclear physics. In Doomwar, however, Shuri says she isn't the "physicist of the family" despite supposedly having knowledge on the topic in the Hudlin run.

Shuri's supposed age was the only time it was ever mentioned again too. Like a lot of Mayberry stuff, it appears to have been ignored.

Its all retconned anyway at the end of the Defenders. Something to do with concordance engines explainings why earth has so many super heroes or soething. It like time travled them back so none of it relaly happened.

More the latter than the former. This plant in particular brought them to a spiritual realm to face Anubis.
