And I think the last game shipped with like 16 characters. Much less than Mvc2 that was closer to like 40. Mvc3 roster got bigger with updates but I wouldn't expect more than 20 shipped characters. They'll want to hold back and charge us for the rest... I still wonder how many of you actually play and aren't just talking ish and won't ever drop the 60 bones or even own a system to play it on.

Super Skrull could factor in but could easily be replaced with a MCU villain like Ronan or Nebula


Elektra is also a huge possibility as well as Jessica Jones or Coleen Wing or Misty Knight

One if those women will get a spot.


I'm trying to mix my X bias with what will actually happen but I'm.trying to remember there's always a wild card in these games.

I got a ryu wireless fight pad and sf4 fight stick. I can't wait for this game. And it'll be the final reason to get me to re-buy a ps4 (traded it in couple months ago but i need it back for King of Fighters) along with getting the rereleases of Marvel Ultimate Alliance finally.

I've always thought Shatterstar would be a great addition. A sword in each hand and a fighting style that's designed to make him look like he's showing off could work wonders for a character.

That's part of the fun of the fighting game adaptions, the wild cards that nobody would ever expect.

I dodn't even think Shuma Gorath had appeared in ten total issues prior to getting his role in the series.

MvC2 had 56 characters total. Capcom scaled that back for MvC3. Possibly for more dubious dlc schemes, which we ended up getting one year later with Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3. I want that 56 character roster badly.

OKAY. I love this kind of thing, making up rosters, but I do agree that at least for the first wave the X-Men characters are probably going to be kept to an absolute minimum. It isn't like this is just a Marvel fighting game, which would actually be really fun and interesting - a console version of Contest of Champions or Future Fight or something? But keeping on topic, I feel I should also mention that they are decidedly NOT going to be going back to 2D. Capcom's fighters have entered an era where they look far more realistic than they did in the past. Let's take a look at Street Fighter 5:



Now, let's say that the initial roster has about 40 characters, with an even split between them. I'd expect to see something like this (I'll be bolding the X-Characters, and NOT counting Deadpool among them since he doesn't seem to have the same embargo):

wolverine, storm, Deadpool, Rogue, Magneto and X-23 seem like no brainers. Magik and Quicksilver would be nice to have. Cable and Psylocke also seem likely.
