This song always takes me back, it's one of the all time great pop songs.
A couple of years earlier they were trying to sell Joe Jackson as a new wave "angry young man" in the same vein as Elvis Costello.

I could have put this particular song in the hip hop thread, but I actually remember that Beasties started their career as a jokey punk rock band
Paul's Boutique is heavily revered but more than a couple of people have suggested that you couldn't do this record today. Mostly just because going thru the legal channels to all the various samples used in each song wouldn't be worth the trouble.
