So how do you think they can disappoint us with Weapon X?

well i hope that Sabretooth and X23 get put here. daken would be allright but im not expecting that lol. Maverick would be great if anyone remembers hes out there. Cable and Domino would be fun. fantomex is fine. i hope its great cause Genx dissapointed me.

I'm nervous. They could disappoint me by including mostly second-rate losers instead of the A-list Weapon X graduates. This book should have some combination of Logan, Laura, Sabretooth, Deadpool, Wild Child, Maverick, Kane, etc., plus maybe some other badasses who have tangential connections to the Weapon X mythos or mercenary/paramilitary backgrounds (e.g., Cable, Domino, Mystique). Maybe some other X-Force types like Psylocke and Archangel.

Oddball D-list characters like Sauron could be included, but should be the minority (1-2 of them) and not the majority (4-5).

they would have to pull some everything lives Se ret Wars crap for Wildchild. he is dead after all.

I do not know who will be in the Weapon X team. But I do not want to see old man Logan, original Wolverine and X23.
Because the Weapon X is a return to the "military slavery", this is the degradation for top level characters. This is not the X-Force.

To be honest I thought that there would be no way to f this up and make me uninterested in it since all the characters they might put into this book I would fine with. Anyone from the actual Weapon X related characters like Maverick, Bolt, Marrow, John Wraith, Silverfox, Sabretooth, Wolverine (X-23), Wildchild, Sauron, Garrison Kane, Copycat, Deadpool, etc. to the more X-Force related characters like Archangel, Domino, Cable, Psylocke, Dr. Nemesis, etc. would be interesting enough for me.

But now that you mentioned it I realized that there is a way to f this up after all. They just have to make this book be about Fantomex and a bunch of OCs and that's it. That is literally the only thing they need to do in order to kill any interest I have for this book. Add to that some bad creative team and it's a sealed deal. And considering that Marvel made Gen X be about the most loathsome and uninteresting student characters they could think of from that group they push constantly (Glob Herman, Nature Girl, Eye Boy, Ernst, Martha Johansson, QQ) I can see them doing exactly that by once again shoving Fantomex down x-fans' collective throats, like they always do. (What is up with them pushing these same characters that most seem to hate over and over? It just baffles me to no end.)

Weapon X is going to be a hard sell for me anyway. I was never a big fan of Wolverine or his past affiliations, save for Alpha Flight, so I'd probably have a harder time coming up with a Weapon X cast that would interest me than I would one that would turn me off. (Though I confess, throw Spurrier's name in there and you've got my interest!) But in the spirit of the thread:

Guardian - Because Mac never fucking learns not to trust Dept H.
Fantomex - Basically, any Fantomex except Morrison or Spurrier's would be a huge negative. Spurrier got the joke and went wonderfully creepy places with it. With too many others, it honestly feels like they wanted Gambit with less baggage and fewer ethics.
Citadel - Gosh, adamantium sure gets easier to come by every year, doesn't it? Weapon Plus reject that should have stayed dead.
Sauron - I just like him better when he's turning people into dinosaurs instead of being a low-rent Purple Man.
Maggot - Revived and given the grim-and-gritty treatment, of course.
Silver Fox - Token girl.

honestly we have no idea what this is. the name sure dipicts weapon x project and all that ugliness. and they said its a dark book. i wonder though. if it isnt just another go at an xforce wetworks or the original xforce millitant style could it actually be a villian book about the project and not the weapons that they previously created. that would be a trip. an not nessacerily something i want. im fine if logan or old man isnt in here. i just hope i like the cast whoever it is.

I fully expect him to be in the book. And I'll deal with it, just as I dealt with it in Remender's Uncanny X-Force. Him and Wade actually developed a fun little rivalry. I prefer Gambit over Fantomex every day of the week and twice on Sundays though. That's my reasoning and I'm sticking to it.
