I'll check the first issue but I'm not particularly enthused.

For better or worse, the Phoenix is hands-down THE most defining aspect of Jean Grey. And of course they're going to feature the Phoenix prominently...realistically, how else are you going to get people to buy a Jean Grey solo book?

I have not written it off, but at this point I have no interest in it. The interview did not give me anything to overcome the low expectations I have of the X-books these days, but there is still time to be sold on it.

True, true. There's still almost half a year before any of these books hit the shelves.

The idea of teen Jean is one of the more interesting concepts of the O5, but the execution up to this point has largely been lacking. I'm not confident that Hopeless is the one that can take it to the level she needs to be.

Only few writers ever made Jean an entertaining main focus and Hopeless is one of them.

I'll give it a shot. I wasn't planning to buy Blue, because of the young'ens, but what the hell? If it's not great it'll be over in a year or so, anyway. Plus, if X-fans don't support the line it'll be an excuse to chop it down to next to nothing...

I guess my fear is that if X-fans DO support the line, even if it means buying books we don't really want, Marvel will take that as proof that we do want them and keep shoving the O5 and other silliness at us.

Not interested in this version of Jean to begin with, and I'm sick and tired of Phoenix stories.
I'll spend my money on something else.

There is that, but how long do most books last anymore? We already know they watch the forums, so they can't be ignorant to the fact most of us aren't too thrilled with the 05 still being here.

Let the line die then. If this is what they pump out, so be it.

Doesn't really matter what people here do or say, it's still just a very small part of the overall comic readership.

Please do. I'd rather there be no new X-books than disgusting books that bespoil the legacy of Claremont's epic run.
