The reason we grumbled wasn't spiderman.

It was peter "mumbles" parker and their musical director ruining what was easily one of the strongest scenes in all of comicdom (that chord was so badly placed it made me rage).

That too. And then he quits for six months. WTF? And people say Maguire!Spidey was a whiner.

Spider-man in the MCU, that itself is enough to give it a major buzz, and a high percentage of even the GA are ecstatic about that, add Iron man actually Tony Stark .. what can I say .. That's all she wrote..

Furthermore, it wasn't fatigue that cause ASM to not be a super blockbuster hit, I know there are alot of people who like Garfield version of Spider-man but they are a lot of people who didn't like it either.. They didn't like the direction.

    I disagree.
I think age of ultron was still different enough.

Sure as hell won't be a DC movie.

    It's between GOTG2 and Homecoming.

    I'd say GOTG2 takes it.

Don't underestimate the CBM of 2017's competition. The Summer months are especially crowded.

    GOTG vol 2 - May 5th

POTC Dead Men Tell No Tales - May 26th

    Wonder Woman - June 2nd

Transformers Last Knight - June 23rd

    Spider-Man Homecoming - July 7th

War For the POTA - July 14th

GOTG and WW I think are in the clear. Spidey however is sandwiched between two other juggernauts, during the busiest time of the summer.

Justice League will beat Thor 3, but Star Wars Episode 8 will knock JL out by December 15th

Don't underestimate DC. A Justice League movie on the level of Fant4stick is still a Justice League movie.

They said that about a movie with Batman and Superman in the title and Wonder Woman on all the promotional art.

    Look how that turned out.

Logan being very successful basically has changed the game! Lego Batman is clearly the lowest grossing

    My new guess:
    1. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2
    2. Spider-Man: Homecoming
    3. Justice League/Thor: Ragnorak
    4. Thor: Ragnorak/Justice League
    5. Logan
    6. Wonder Woman
    7. Lego Batman Movie

I'm torn between whether Justice League or Thor makes more.

Justice League does have a Pixar movie coming out the week after. That's already far more competition than BvS has. BvS in its third weekend lost to The Boss which only made about 23 million so its not impossible for JL to be hurt by the legs of Thor and Pixar's debut

And Captain America Civil War was knocked out in it's 3rd weekend by Angry Birds. By that point, most people have seen these films and it's pretty much old news.

The Thor movies are modest successes for Marvel. Every DCEU film has outgrossed the Thor movies. I don't expect the wacky, gladiator adventure to outperform JL for November and the Thanksgiving holiday.

Angry Birds did make a solid 15 million more than The Boss so not the exact same. Thor does have the Hulk with him this time so who knows what will happen. I'm not saying it will outgross JL for sure but I think it's definitely possible if it has better legs and WOM than JL. JL pretty much needs good WOM this time because I doubt it has the same OW as BvS

Surprised the Batman Lego movie didn't crack over 200M domestically. Although it did open in a crowded weekend thought it would have better legs.

Look at the budget. Study only gets roughly 50% from domestic sales and 30% from foreign sales.

It barely made profit and it was supposed to make 1 billion.

I've read that it made a 100+ million profit.
