So New Mutants are not in present with Deadpool?
    Was it confirmed?

Yeah - and it did well. Sure, it undersold DOFP, but DOFP did well on the merits that it was based on one of the best arcs from comics, featured Wolverine in a main role, featured a LOT of the main cast from the original trilogy as well as the new cast, and was the second movie in a trilogy.

    Everyone likes a good middle.

The storyboard appears to be set in the 1980's

Might depend how Logan does, too. Early buzz at least sounds good.

God I hope not. That whole thing with setting the movies in the past is just so stupid. It takes me totally out of the movies when your sitting there thinking how the returning characters have not she'd even though it is 20 years latter.

It worked for a couple movies and now it just is not needed and ties the writers hands in trying to crossover movie in the future. Set it the modern times like Deadpool and go from there.

They won't recast James McAvoy or Rose Byrne and the younger cast. Point Blank Period

Late 80's till Mid 90's is the goat era of X-Men anyways

There is nothing in the X-Men that directly links them to any past time period though except Magnetos origin. Everything else can take place in any period including the present. In fact setting it in the past was an interesting gimick for one movie and that about it.

You keep saying they are not going to recast the new kids, but the truth is none of them really stuck out at as must haves to keep the franchise going. They were not bad in their roles but they were not standouts like Jackman was as Wolverine. They can all be recast. Plus they are going to recast Wolverine anyway so it would make sense to just start fresh with a whole new cast without any of the baggage of the Singer films.

If you pretend like nothing happened after 1983 you'll just upset everyone even more.

Just stick with what you have if your not going back to Disney

A 90s film with the cast minus Lawrence and Fassbender works fine

Dang, you're right... duh... LOL! Just checked, has to be in production within 7, then released the following year. Further evidence, Elektra was released in '05, DD's rights reverted in '12. Crap, that sucks, 7 years seems SO much longer than 5! Which was already long enough, IMO, 3 or 4 would have been MUCH better! ;p Must've mentally blocked the 7 as a defense mechanism, to prevent myself from being wrought with distress.

You're right, probably wouldn't be allowed to do so, doesn't mean they wouldn't/won't try though. Stranger things... ;p ... have happened:

McAvoy has re-signed. So have Sheridan, Turner, and Fassbender iirc

This would be the neXt best thing to Marvel getting them back, and would do MUCH to generate goodwill towards Fox from many an X-fan... temporarily anyway, 'til the new director & character/cast choices were announced. Our fan speculation is almost ALWAYS better than what we actually get lately, seems like the ball is always getting dropped, when it comes to our X-Men.

The young cast couldn't stand out because they're never the focus of the movie nor given enough material to work with

I'm would think Tye & Sophie were already locked in for a few more, when they signed on for XMA. James' & Fassie's contracts being X-tended are still only rumors though, I believe, and have not been confirmed.
