Ultimate Peter is not Jewish. In USM 106 (the opening of the Ultimate Knights story/trade paperback), Peter uses a Yiddish expression, while specifically saying that he is using it despite not being Jewish.

(To be honest, nothing about Spider-Man in general ever seemed Jewish to me, so I don't exactly get why it was ever a question. But then, in the movies, his aunt had a distinctly Christian background, so I guess I kind of always assumed he leaned that way.)

This is something I've always wondered about, because Peter SEEMS very Jewish to me, but I don't think he is.

Fairly sure Spider-Man follows no religion which is a good thing as it sells that anyone can be Spider-Man. That and developed countries are rapidly moving away from religion as education increases and cities are developed to the modern age.

Thinking about it some more, Pauker is a Jewish surname that could easily have been changed to Parker in an earlier generation.

According to Greg Weisman, he is jewish in everything, except for not being officially one.

To be honest, Peter has some sort of spirituality, but is sort of ambigous about the religion, wich is find by me personally. I think that big names shouldn't have an specific religion and left that part open to interpretation, like showing that he indeed believes, but don't said that he is chatolic, protestant, jewish or whatever.

In all probability, Spidey isn't Jewish.

A valid position, and one I share.

The OP question reminds me of a thread about a hypothetical change of MJ's race (I guess to better line her up with her "counterpart" in Homecoming). As I wrote at that time: assuming the key personality traits of a character remain the same I could not care less what ethnicity she or he is.

Based on what we have seen in the comics probably not. If a writer wanted to go with that angle I wouldn't care either way. It would seem a bit weird to suddenly make a big deal of it either way at this point.

There's some info on it in an online spotlight.

    changed from Fitzgeraldstein?

i seriously doubt it because i think it would have come up, already. Ben Grimm would have said something. Ultimate Spider-man might be, though. i could see Bendis doing that.

Ultimate Peter Parker is not Jewish; In one of the USM issues (found in the Ultimate Knights trade, I think), Peter specifically comments that he's isn't to himself in one of his little internal monologues after using a Yiddish expression.
Doctor Strange: "You are the right person to replace Logan."
X-23: "I know there are people who disapprove... Guys on the Internet mainly."
