    Default What would you feature in an Alfred Pennyworth Cookbook?

    If DC/Warner were to market an ALFRED PENNYWORTH COOKBOOK in a similar spirit to those seemingly ubiquitous Elvis Presley cookbooks, but featuring the kinds of foods and beverages that Alfred likely serves to Bruce Wayne and his charges (based on what's been portrayed in media over the years), what kinds of dishes would you include?

    Moderators, please move this thread to the Batman Forum. Misposting, I'm afraid.

    Sad dishes that will go uneaten. Little known fact, Bruce doesn't constantly leave Alfred's meals on the table because he's so driven to fight crime. He's just a really bad cook.

    Well, I would certainly expect to see Vichyssoise in there.

    Two recent examples are an unspecified "salmon dish" and chocolate gelt with custom bat logos on them. And Alfred makes various types of sandwiches all the time.

    A "How To" guide concerning the appropriate amount of time to leave frozen steak on someone's face before it thaws.

    Also, how to make English cooking do the impossible....

    Like action, adventure, rogues, and outlaws? Like anti-heroes, femme fatales, mysteries and thrillers?

    I wrote a book with them. Outlaw’s Shadow: A Sherwood Noir. Robin Hood’s evil counterpart, Guy of Gisbourne, is the main character. Feel free to give it a look: https://read.amazon.com/kp/embed?asi...E2PKBNJFH76GQP

    Vichyssoise (thick soup made of puréed leeks, onions, potatoes, cream, and chicken stock)...served by Alfred in Batman Returns.
    Things I love: Batman, Superman, AEW, old films, Lovecraft

    Grant Morrison: “Adults...struggle desperately with fiction, demanding constantly that it conform to the rules of everyday life. Adults foolishly demand to know how Superman can possibly fly, or how Batman can possibly run a multibillion-dollar business empire during the day and fight crime at night, when the answer is obvious even to the smallest child: because it's not real.”

    Nothing but cake's and Sandwiches that's all the man ever seems to bring down to that blasted Bat cave. Seriously has anyone else noticed the number of panels that show Alfie feeding them all manner of cake's and Tea. Surprised they can still fit into their leather and spandex.

    Anyway my list;

    Ferocious Chicken and Jalopeno sandwiches {like he made in B&R}
    Full Sunday Roast dinners with a side of cupcakes { also from B&R}

    On account of his Britishness;

    A yummy Spotted Dick recipe in honour of the 1st Robin
    Home made Fish and [posh] chips with mushy peas and brown sauce
    Maybe a nice Bubble and Squeak rosti recipe to help use up Xmas and Thanksgiving left overs
