Default Mark Waid's "Axiom" (published by Legendary)

This shipped back in September (maybe October).

Axiom is another Superman-riff. In this case, it reads like a combination of "Red Son", the Sentry with a small amount of "Phonogram". Waid addresses the major (if no longer new) questions about super-type characters, including the moral hazard and the stresses it can place on the hero. Similar to the Sentry, Axiom's mental state has a significant impact on how well he does. And, he is influenced by how others see him.

Waid indulges a bit heavily in retro-80s psychology towards the end, but not to the point of it being a deal-breaker.

Worth picking up if you want a "Superman" riff.
Current pull-file: Batman the Detective, Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight, Marvel Dark Ages, Nightwing, Superman Son of Kal-El, Transformers, Transformers: King Grimlock, Warhammer 40,000 Sisters of Battle
