    Because in Dan Didio's mind, all heroes have to be brooding and angsty and cannot have any semblance of a stable personal life whatsoever. They have to sacrifice any sort of personal happiness for the "mission." Those are his words btw, not mine.

    Yes, I agree that Identity Crisis, combined with Infinite Crisis and War Games, began a long-term slide for Tim Drake from which he has never recovered. Even the golden opportunity of the reboot, which could have been used to correct the situation, only made things worse.
