Agreed. At first I didn't like the idea of a fill in artist, but I like how they've used him.
There's a video preview of Sherlock Frankenstein out there that shows a bit more art and it's looking fantastic!
I've just finished reading issue #13. Another brilliant issue. I had a feeling what happened with Lucy at the end was coming. I really hope Sherlock Frankenstein is good enough to keep me going until issue #14 comes out!

Looks like the main title is becoming "Black Hammer: Age of Doom" and it's returning in April 2018.

Nice! I'm glad they're continuing to just have fun with the tropes of superhero comics!
Though, it's going to be a long wait till april.
It's a shame they couldn't squeeze in 2 mini series before April. I'm praying it really will be April and it won't get delayed. Hopefully the break for Ormston will help him get ahead of the game.

They might still. They've only announced one. But that one should carry us through.
I hope so, I love a good annual. I loved how he used different artists for each character.
Sherlock Frankenstein was great. I love how it basically flowed right out of the last Rubin issue. I'm continually impressed with how he's formatting this book. Using Rubin as a fill in, but telling side stories in those issues, and having one of those basically lead us into the spin off series. So, it doesn't feel like a spin off, so much as a small side step to flesh out Lucy's character and her back story. Which I think will be pretty important going forward given the events of the last issue of Black Hammer.
Man, I just adore this book.
I've just read Sherlock Frankenstein. Loved it. Loved the villains we were introduced to and the art was great. Good bit of a cliffhanger at the end too.
It'll be interesting to find out if...
spoilers:end of spoilers
Sherlock really did disappear with the others, or if he was the one who caused them all to disappear

Another great issue!
I like that Rubin is a little experimental with his page payouts. They're fun, and inventive, but I think in some cases the lettering needs to be stronger in leading your eyes in the right directions. Sometimes it does, and other times it doesn't, which leaves the page a little confusing. That's my only complain with the book. It's happened in his Black Hammer issues, too.
I shouldn't say complaint. Criticism. I like that he's trying, if not succeeding each and every time.
We have Black Hammer news! Another spin-off!!

Awesome! So this will start right after SF, and also run alongside BH, I guess.
Maybe it's just me, but the Doctor Star news calls up memories of James Robinson's Starman series. Still; I've been enjoying everything that Lemire's been doing with the Black Hammer. I'll likely be picking up the new spin-off as well.
