That's quite deliberate. There's a reason Doctor Star is called Jimmy Robinson.

Sounds like there're three or four more spin-offs after Sherlock Frankenstein and Doctor Star apparently.
... we’ve only announced the Sherlock Frankenstein spinoff so far, which just started coming out. There’s actually ... four or five other Black Hammer miniseries being drawn and already written.

I don't know how I felt about this issue...

It was beautifully done. Rubin just crushes on this book. Loved that it was all double page spreads.

In the end, though, what was the point of this book? It didn't really tell us much we didn't already know and it didn't end with us in a very different place than we already were. It fleshed some things out, it had fun moments with fun characters, it was a gorgeous book, but...

I finished Sherlock Frankenstein last night and I feel pretty much the same. I thought we would get some answers or at least hints towards the main story. I was hoping Sherlock might have known more about all the heroes disappearing or at least offer to help find them in some way. If he's as clever as the book says he is, he could possibly work out what happened. Either way, I'm still excited for Doctor Star to see what that brings.

I might wait and read Doctor Star once it's complete. After Sherlock, I'm less excited for this one, sadly. I'm sure it'll be great in a lot of ways, I just don't know that it's going to mean much until Black Hammer returns. Which I think will be the case with Sherlock, too.

I mean, they're telling these stories for a reason, it just might not be apparent why, until Black Hammer resumes.

Jeff Lemire is going to be writing Sentry for Marvel as well as Justice League for DC. i hope this doesn't cause BH to be delayed.

Writers can usually juggle multiple books no problem.

Does anyone know when the main book is coming back?

I'm not feeling these random minis that have replaced it...

I recently started reading the 2016 Black Hammer series. And holy poop is it good. At first I was skeptical about a superhero book without any.....superheroing? But I was wrong. A lot of gut-punching emotion involved and I'm only one issue #4. And now they have the nerve to want to expand the universe? My poor wallet.

Edit: just got done with #7

Doctor Star with another great issue. Loved the time dilation. I'm a sucker for that kind of ****. I also figured that was going to be how his son was so old.

Heads up, the Dark Horse Free Comic Book Day book is half Black Hammer. Seems to be a Quantum Age story.
