Yeah, I agree. Some of these dudes need a scar. And that scar should be part of the character's design.

Deadpool, Doctor Doom, Doctor Strange, and Fury all tend to be shown with scars.

Probably because their scars define part of them.

Ben Grimm's face was scarred by Wolverine. But the scars have healed and are gone. Courtesy of Tom Defalco and Paul Ryan

I've seen a few artists draw Punisher's body as a roadmap of scars when he takes his shirt off.

Also, it's not uncommon for him to be seen sporting bandages or stitches when he appears with no attempt at explanation ever given other than the fact that he's the Punisher.

Spider-man has mentioned scars from fighting some of his enemies more than a few times, but he also might have just been joking. It's hard to tell with him.

Why is that? Isn't he supposed to be one of the finest trained fighters in the world or why not just wear better body protection?

Or does his Batman persona require him take unnecessary punishment and pain to show how dark and gritty he is?

Because even the toughest body in the best armor is still going to get hurt once in awhile, especially if it's someone like Batman, who they occasionally want to re-humanize between bouts of see, he's super enough to run with the big boys!

It'd be a pain to draw them consistently.
