Rebecca Romijn played an entirely different character that was coincidentally also was a blue shapeshifter. Seriously, there's a complete disconnect between original trilogy Mystique and First Class version, and that is entirely down to the writers, because Lawrence didn't have any kind of starpower when she was cast.

I don't know, Rebecca did some pretty good work in Ugly Betty.

Only real difference is Lawrence went the snob route of indie movies and that gave her a lot more acting cred once she went into big budget movies.

She did the legit make up in First Class and they said she was "allergic" to it aka, she didn't have time for that crap cuz she was about to win an oscar.

So I'm not sure how it could have been poisonous when they switched it all out for stuff that she wasn't "allergic" to and made 90% of her outfit a onsie with sequins on it.

I'm pretty sure everybody is talking about her face. What I don't get is why they picked the naked blue lady visual in the forst place, or why fans who do nothing but complain that Lawrence's Mystique (Vaughn and Kinberg's Mystique, really) acts like no comicbook Mystique ever at the same time also don't want her to look like any comicbook Mystique.
