This one evolved...!
For a while I've thought if I ever won a CBR cover contest I'd post one of my favourite ever covers: JLA Primeval, and have the theme of 'Cave Art'.
But since my 'week' has fallen on Christmas time I feel somewhat obliged to honour this.
It's long been acknowledged by historians that our Dec 25th date for Jesus' birthday is likely to be out of whack (with March being more historically likely) and there's a popular theory that ancient Pagan festivals, such as Saturnalia, 'morphed' into what we now call Christmas (that's an over-simplification, but whaddayawant?). Throw in Santa Claus and his roots in ancient folklore and we begin to see that the Old Magic is still represented in one form or another.
I figured I'd post the same JLA cover, but adapt the theme to suit: COVERS WITH THE 'OLD MAGIC' OR LEGENDS FROM TIMES GONE BY.... I also think that suits my entry with the mythos of the JLA in cave art form...
