And they definitely aren't gonna get the ad space for a super bowl ad.
    I have to agree.
Granted, the non-comic-buying public is a bit more aware that comics didn't go extinct in the '90s now, thanks to the New52 push...
But there's still people out there that think Superman and Batman, as well as the Avengers, are tv or movie-centric properties based on archaic and defunct publications they're vaguely aware of from their childhood. Or even based on the Superfriends cartoon, with no idea that it, in turn, was based on the comics.
Much like how Dick Tracy, The Phantom, Flash Gordon and The Shadow are now viewed. (I wouldn't be surprised if many folks don't even know that Dick Tracy, The Phantom and Flash Gordon are still running in newspapers, as most papers have dropped the adventure strips in favor of the comedy ones or to cut paper use).

Finally, comics are doing what they should've done for years. Actual advertising. I love how DC beat Marvel to it, but if it's a success Marvel will definitely follow.

It will be interesting to see what TV commercials for comics look like, ive never seen one before.
Here goes the next price spike. Do you have any idea what this is gonna cost the industry? It's not like Didio is going to pay for this out of his paycheck.

They should do a super bowl ad.
A Superbowl ad should tank the companies bottom line real quick. Hope nobody has stock in DC or Marvel these days when this happens.

The bigger characters aren't a gateway to anything but more titles about the same characters. Nobody buys the lesser knowns just check the numbers. The only way to success is for lesser knowns to have a breakaway movie success like GOTG or Suicide Squad. That audience doesn't follow the characters back to comics because most of them don't read anything longer than Twitter.

    This may be unfortunately true...
However... Teens and Young Adults weren't big on reading books until Harry Potter came along.
Up until then it was mostly older adults (romance and westerns) or hardcore sci-fi/fantasy fans.

Comics just needs a Harry Potter-level phenomenon.

Hopefully not just on the CW, where no one will see it...

They don't need success, just stability. PRetty much most comics are failing.
