    Default sorting out Star Lord

I recently picked up a compilation of Star Lord comics (form the 70s and 90s). Because of Marvel's various failed attempts at relaunching the character over the years, there are a number of contrary origins and variations on the character.

Most of this list is based on that compilation, including the sourcebook entry. This link is also helpful.

-616 Starlord: Sired by "J'Son of Sparta". Element Gun was an example of Spartan technology. Mother killed by Badoon. Ship apparently destroyed. (Much of this is a back-write, as described in the sourcebook entry.)

-791 Starlord: Sired by "Jason of Spartax" (note the spelling differences). Element Gun and ship were gifts from Lord of the Sun. (Starlord and Ship of 791 had a creepy dynamic that could be called...."shipping". Get it? "Shipping?") Mother killed by green lizard aliens. (Said aliens were sent by Jason's brother, as part of a coup attempt.) This Starlord showed up in some righteously bad 70s comics. His last recorded adventure was him taking his elderly father on a long road-trip through space.

-1996: (The "1996" is a reference to the year that this variant of the character was established, rather than any official world-number.) Strongly implied to be deceased. Replaced by SinJin, a telepathic space-cop. This was presumably an attempt by Marvel to create a powered-down Starlord (shortly before the release of the "Star Wars" Special Editions of the 90s). The Element Gun was much scaled back (with a built-in "cost" to over-use). Ship mentions being the property/creation of the Lord of the Sun. Appeared in the Zahn-written series.

~2010: Sired by a Jason of Spartax. Story published (and possibly set) concurrent to "Annihilation", likely as another failed reboot of the character. Ship was owned by Jason, and destroyed in crash, before Starlord (Peter) was born. Element Gun was passed down from Jason, rather than Lord of the Sun.

-2015: Appeared in Abnett-written "Guardians 3000". Costume, Ship and Element Gun similar to 791 Starlord. Leader of a "ghost fleet" (remains of a fallen empire). Dialogue establishes this Star Lord as an ancestor of the current (616) Star Lord.
Current pull-file: Batman the Detective, Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight, Marvel Dark Ages, Nightwing, Superman Son of Kal-El, Transformers, Transformers: King Grimlock, Warhammer 40,000 Sisters of Battle

IDK much about Starlord, I was a big fan of the original GotG, so I'm looking forward to reading through this.
