'Popular' Image titles you just don't like?

I can't get into the Wicked and the Divine. I loved the first volume, but the others haven't gripped me as much

Wytches. The writing was bad and the art was worse.

Paper Girls. The art's great, but the nostalgia aspect never really caught for me, and I didn't much care for the characters.

Birthright. Nice art, but not written in a compeling manner.

The Wicked and the Divine really didn't grab me. I read the first few issues but dropped it. I felt like it loved itself a bit too much.

I read the first arc of Paper Girls and thought it was alright, but wasn't blown away by it, so I dropped it.

Also forgot to mention Saga and Walking Dead. I bought the first 4 trades of Saga, read 2 of them, then sold them all. It certainly didn't live up to the hype for me. I've never really been into zombies, so Walking Dead doesn't do it for me. Also, I'm not a fan of black and white art.

Deadly Class. It's odd cuz I can read stories about teenaged superheroes or slice of life stuff about teens/young adults and also I grew up around the same time that Rick did so a get the references, but for some reason I just connect with the material.

I'll have to second the comments about Birthright, Paper Girls, and Wytches. Each of them – in their own way – seemed to lose too much momentum by the end of the first arc, and lose their initial excitement.

Saga: Never liked most of the characters, find the the adult material to be embarrassing and distracting, not very tonally consistant at times, one character's entire growth and character is just based on the women in refrigerators trope.

Deadly Class: Outside of the stereotypes, never focused enough on the school element of the series. Most of the characters were unlikable and those who were killed off. Marcus was awful and not remotely fun to follow to the point where I celebrated that he died. There's no one left to be invested in anymore

The Wicked + The Divine: Bowed out after the second arc. Didn't care about any of the characters, follow most of them annoying, the dialogue and aesthetic is trying to hard to be hip and modern

Pretty Deadly: Very pretty looking, but it's a whole lot of blah with characters I just don't like and poor pacing

The Walking Dead: It's just misery porn and a shambling corpse at this point. There's no reason to care about anyone anymore since you never know when the writer will decide to be shocking and kill someone off With no one to invest in, there's no reason to care about the stakes in the slightest.

Shutter: Never got off the ground for me. Visually stunning, but rather hollow

I tried two separate times to read the first trade and couldn't finish. The characters and humor just didn't click for me. I've come to accept I'm just going to be in the minority on some comic trends. Love Deadly Class though.

Saga: many claim how great it is, I have all the trades but every time I try to read them, I get bored and stop haven't made it to the 2nd arc, yet I keep collecting out of fear of missing something good. I remember trying to read Anne Rice's the Witching Hour like 5 times and never making it through the book, until I came to the conclusion that it just wasn't for me.

Interesting. I'd vote it the most consistantly awesome book Image puts out. I don't think there has been a single weak issue yet.

To be fair: in the case of Birthright, it may also be more of a matter of personal preference. In my mind, Birthright falls into the fantasy genre; which is something I got largely burnt out on a number of years ago. So that is probably an influencing factor. These days, anything from the fantasy genre has to work awfully hard to keep me engaged for the long-term.
