Werewolf by Night Omnibus (3 issues) - The first 3 issues were the Gerry Conway Marvel Spotlight issues. It's pretty fun so far
Spider-Man Blue (1-6) - This was fine for what it was but Peter's narration made it feel like a romance novel which was a little too much for me. This was meant to be a love letter to Gwen but in a way I thought MJ got the better spotlight in this.
Captain America (2004) 1-5 - This was one of the first runs I read when I got into comics and these first few issues still hol up. I wish the first few omni's weren't OOP so I could own these on my shelf
Nailbiter #30 - I really wish this book ended stronger than this.

'Life' has been taking away most of my reading time so a lot this has been read at work on my lunch break. Its hard to go back and read older Iron Man or Thor stories after reading Fantastic Four and Spider-Man. I'm right on the edge of adding Iron-man to the Silver Age Skip pile with Daredevil, ant-man, and X-men.
I had no intention of sticking with Amazing Spider-Man but it just keep being entertaining. It only gets better the longer I stick with it. I've decided to go back and start using Travis Starnes' Correct Marvel Reading Order. There is a nice flow to the early Marvel Universe that spans across most of the superhero titles. Reading them in his order helps show that. The only downside is that I can get impatient wanting to get to the high parts of each series.
Gundam Origin continues to be great. I think i enjoyed volume 1 slightly more. I also took longer breaks between chapters for Volume 2 so maybe thats why. I'll wait to read Volume 3 until i have more time to read it in one or two days.
My local library was able to get Cerebus volume 1 in for me so i figured I would try it out. Mostly just to try out a series that has had such a big impact on the industry. Even if i read all of volume 1 i don't plan on tacking down High Society. I chose volume 1 because the series starts out as a spoof on Conan. I really enjoyed those first few issues of Howard the Duck that i read last year. I think i prefer Gerber's take on a Conan story over Dave Sim's.
I'm jumping between Batman & The Outsiders hardcover and Cannon by Wally Wood.

Full list in post #54. Posting as I complete books.
SHIELD Omnibus 31 issues (Read first 5 issues in 2016) Counted Steranko's interlude as 1/2 issue it is loooong winded. This took me longer than I thought to get into hence the carry over from last year. The start dragged on for me and I enjoy SA, but it felt like Stan was going through the motions on it. Then there came Steranko. I can see why the title was canceled shortly after he left. He had set such a high bar for style in both art and plotting it never quite got it back when he departed. Not that the following issues were bad, but they seemed to be trying to hard to recreate what he had achieved as his natural style. I also enjoyed his characterization and mannerisms for Fury waaayy better than what came before and what he devolved to by the end of the series.
Thor Siege PHC 6 issues. Always wondered why the Thor issues were not included in the Siege OHC since it is an Asgard centric event, then I read this... just meh. Doesn't really add anything. Glad I got it on deep discount, still barely worth the $6 I paid.

latest readings. Had to stop to watch Iron fist so seemed like a good time to count what I've read again:
The Valiant: 4
Good stuff and great art from Rivera. First time I've ever cared for Bloodshot and I really liked his dynamic with Geomancer too. I think they even did a good job introducing the other Valiant characters to new readers too, I had no idea who Geomancer was but I still cared about her.
Bloodshot Reborn: 12
Best Bloodshot solo story so far, impressive art (although I prefer Rivera's clean style). Seems like Lemire became the industry's go to fixer. I'm quite intrigued by how it will continue my only negative is that this should be a jumping on point for new readers but it heavily relies on The Valiant and that mini could seem a bit overwhelming for newbies.
Ninjak dlx 9
Good but not great. I think Ninjak relies on technology too much (at least for my taste) and his gadgets save his ass too many times. I wish he used his ninja skills more that makes him more of a badass than whipping out some tech gadget that does the job for him.
So far I'm quite lukewarm on Kindt's writing. Had two opportunities to get the Mind MGMT set but shied away from them because I wasn't super impressed with his Valiant works.
Chase: 13
Wish this series went somewhere. By the time it really gets going it ends but it's still a good read. Although I've skipped the one pagers at the end, I didn't really care for those.
Grendel omnibus 1-2: 50
Great concept but very poor execution. The first volume has some good shorts and overall Hunter's story is good but the format and the lack of long form narrative kills the effect. The longer story at the end was the best. Also I find Argent ridiculous and pathetic looking depending on the artist.
The second volume is absolute garbage. The main story is not bad at all but the art kills it. Horrendous looking, absolutely incompetent colouring and hard to follow lettering. I would rather read a Liefeld comic that actually has some kind of flow. The last 3 shorter stories had much better art but the writing on them was not great. The first short had so many speech bubbles for background chatter that it became very irritating to read very fast and the rest was just boooooooooring. I couldn't believe how much I didn't care about those.
Started to read v3 which was better but the stylistic writing choices didn't impress me at all.
I don't think I will finish the series but I'm actually looking forward to reading Batman vs Grendel. I really liked the vs Shadow book so this story probably work best when it has an another fanbase to appeal to so the execution is a bit more conventional?
Torpedo v1: 6
This was comfort reading after the trials and tribulations of Grendel. Like when I got raging mad how bad Criminal Macabre was and had to read some Claremont X-men to calm down (Grendel is better than CM though). So far Torpedo's story is pretty decent but can be offensive for some (it was borderline for me but ultimately gave it a pass) but it is elevated to another level by Bernett's art. That man is a superb storyteller and doesn't get enough praise and attention.
Hulk: Ghost of the past epic 20
I was putting this off for a year because I though I wouldn't like it (I thought it will be too try hard funny) but recently got the urge to read 90's stuff (I might be sick) and I actually ended up liking this a lot.
It starts a bit in the middle but PAD does a good job catching you up. The first 4 issues are fairly standard superhero annuals but when the actual stories start it quickly becomes clear why this run is so beloved. The balance of personal drama and superheroics are really good, Rick's and Marlo's plot is dark and heartbreaking, quite unusual for this type of book. Also I think this version of the Hulk might be my favourite so far. He is an actual character not just a raging gamma monster.
The annual at the end is skippable but other than that it's well worth the attention and I'm looking forward to the 2nd vol.
The art is overall good but Duursema is very much outclassed by Keown and Frank (the latter being the absolute best).
that's 114 issues
Total: 344
Best of the batch: the real meat of the Hulk Epic and Torpedo.
