Reliving my second childhood.... Making my TPB's take a back seat.....I'm now a new DC Omnibus and Hard Bound Book Collector: Batman: The Golden Age Omni V1 / Legends of the Dark Knight: Jim Aparo Vol. 2 / Gotham Central Omni / Justice League of America Silver Age Omni's V1 & V2 / Superman: The Golden Age Omni V1/ Green Lantern Omni V1
with many more purchases soon to come.....
Not the bottom of the barrel being scraped...that was scraped through years ago.
Well, that's disappointing...
Not sure is specifically means Watchmen comics... Maybe it just means Rebirth comics? Manhattan is already pretty central to everything.
Intentionally misleading headline.
Was DC Universe Rebirth a Watchmen comic?
Johns might not be necessarily writing Watchmen. He's most likely just writing the event involving some of those characters.
Moore is rolling in his grave...in the future.
Because I figure he is either writing the event that's the culmination of what Rebirth was foreshadowing... which is disappointing because Johns is not currently writing anything at DC so his event will likely not fit in anywhere and basically do what most of his events do and derail what everyone else is doing, or planning to do because DC is very bad at keeping everyone in the loop.
Or he is writing somekind of tie-in book that, judging by the accompanying pic of Dr. Manhattan, will focus on the Watchmen... something I had really hoped would be limited to Dr. Manhattan and saved for the actual event. Because I quite frankly don't like the idea of including them into the DCU, they worked so well because they were off doing their own thing, importing them into the DCU is not going to do anything for anyone.
And finally... it's Geoff Johns, and as this thread already suggests it means everyone is going to loose their marbles and critical senses due to the hype, just because it's Geoff Johns... which to me is something he hasn't been worthy of for several years now.
More clickbait from BC. We all know upcoming DC stories will feature the Watchmen characters, that doesn't necessarily mean he's writing a "Watchmen comic". That's a bit like saying Crisis on Infinite Earths was a Flash or a Superman comic.
If I had to guess, rather then writing a Watchmen book, Johns is likely writing the next part of the Rebirth mega-arc.
Which I imagine will dovetail into the third wave of Rebirth and more directly deal with what's going on with the JSA and Legion, and maybe setup the Rebirth for more heroes/groups.
Curious to see who is going to draw this. Hopefully its Fabok. I know Jason doesn't want to work crazy hours any more so it would make sense for DC to take him off JLvSS to focus on something new with Johns.
