    "Skirmish Beneath the Streets!" Part 1 of 2.

    One of the best Spider-Man covers of the bronze age kicks off a new era for the wondrous wall-crawler!
    And JJJ begins the fun by hosting a party in honor of Ned and Betty's engagement! The flattop curmudgeon is in rare form and about to make a speech

    when the lights suddenly go out! What happened to the NYC power grid?
    Maybe it was a shock(er) to the system! The web-slinger descends into the sewers to find out!

    Appearances by Mary Jane Watson, Flash Thompson, Harry Osborn, Betty Brant, Ned Leeds, J. Jonah Jameson, and Joe Robertson.

    Notes: In this issue Spider-Man disposes of his clone's body at the Brooklyn incinerating plant before attending Jonah's party. Thus ending the saga of the Spider-Clone. Or so Spidey and all his fans thought. The Shocker previously appeared in Amazing Spider-Man 72. The cover to this issue is a homage to the classic cover of Amazing Spider-Man 33.

    Amazing Spider-Man #152 Jan 1976
    "Shattered by the Shocker!" Part 2 of 2.
    After his harrowing escape from the sewer system, the Spectacular Spider-Man itches for a rematch with the Shocker!

    And just a few days later the web-slinger gets his wish at the Con Ed power plant in Queens!

    The Shocker wants to black out the city! The wall-crawler wants to keep the lights burning!
    In grand fashion Spider-Man and the Shocker throw down the gauntlet (in more ways than one) until only the victor remains!

    The first issue of the (1984) Marvel Super Heroes Secret Wars Limited Series was published the same month as Amazing Spider-Man 252. The web-slinger discovers his new costume in issue 8 of the limited series.

    "After the Fox!" First appearance of Silver Sable!
    The Black Fox is on the run! But it's not the Spectacular Spider-Man who's chasing him! It's Silver Sable! An adventurer for hire from the European country of Symkaria!

    Silver Sable and her Wild Pack pursue the fox through the streets of Manhattan and then later corner him on the waterfront!

    However, the aging international jewel thief has a wall-crawling guardian angel!

    Down on the docks, the sparks fly as the web-slinger gives Silver Sable a lesson in diplomacy...superhero-style!
