    Thor #445 Mar 1992
    Operation Galactic Storm part 7
Immediately after exiting the stargate, the Avengers envoy to the Shi'ar get caught up in a firefight between a Kree starfighter and a remote Shi'ar planet.

Intercepting the planet's distress beacon to the throneworld, Gladiator attacks the Avengers, assuming they are in league with the Kree. While Thor and Gladiator duel and debate the morality of war and the role of warriors, Captain Marvel and Living Lightning discover a Skrull aboard the Kree starfighter.

Using morally questionable methods to overcome Gladiator, Thor starts to become the irresponsible, duty-driven monster he initially detested in Gladiator. The Avengers prevent him from killing Gladiator, but Thor impulsively sends his opponent through the Shi'ar stargate, sealing it permanently with his Uru hammer.

En route to the Shi'ar homeworld, the stranded Avengers are suddenly intercepted by a flight of Shi'ar starcraft.

    Ms. Marvel #4 Apr 1977
    "Death Is the Doomsday Man!"
After realizing that Ms. Marvel and Carol Danvers are the same person, settling the schizophrenic aspect of the character,

Ms. Marvel defeats the Doomsday Man thanks to her Seventh Sense detecting a shut-off switch.

Destructor shows up again, but he winds up killing himself messing around with Kree technology in the cave.

The issue ends with Mike Barnett calling up Carol and telling him he knows about Ms. Marvel.

All for the hair to be longer.

The X-Men vs. the Avengers #1 Apr 1987
    "Justice for All!"
Doctor Druid and Captain America arrive at a Mansfield, Ohio shopping mall, ordering the security guard to give the place their attention. They then force the crowd to listen to them and evacuate slowly, using Doctor Druid's hypnotic power. Up above the Earth's atmosphere, the rest of the Avengers, Captain Marvel, Thor, She-Hulk, and Black Knight, are attempting to stop a huge meteor shower. She-Hulk and Black Knight, in a Quinjet, are nearly killed,

but are saved by Thor. The government realizes what the asteroids were when they see how magnetic it is, as well as the straps of metal embedded in it.

In Russia, the Soviet Super soldiers are stopping a runaway train with the help of the Crimson Dynamo. The Soviet Super-Soldiers express their hatred of the man, but agree to let him join their ranks, as he is still Russian.
In an isolated cove along the Atlantic shore, six X-Men are vacationing (Dazzler, Magneto, Havok, Storm, Wolverine, and Rogue).
All are enjoying themselves except for Havok, who is letting off steam. Magneto sneaks away from the group when he hears the announcement of the fallen asteroids, and takes off.

Back at the Avengers Hydrobase, the team is discussing the Asteroids, which now have been revealed as pieces of Asteroid M. They all recount past deeds of him, and agree it is their duty to go after him.

Hydra Cap deserves a fair trial too!
In Kampuchea, Magneto is looking for his lost pieces of Asteroid M when he is confronted by Captain Marvel,

and then by the rest of the Avengers, who want him to stop. The X-Men come to his aid when he is being beaten.
Lastly, the Soviet Super-Soldiers come and attack both groups in an attempt to take Magneto for themselves.
The new Avengers Lineup: Black Knight, Captain America, Captain Marvel, Doctor Druid, She-Hulk, and Thor!

The New Mutants #50 Apr 1987
    Father's Day!
The Starjammers, including Professor X, Lilandra and Carol Danvers aka Binary, are on a Fringeworld to buy parts to repair their spaceship. Unfortunately that deal gets interrupted when Xavier detects the thoughts of Illyana Rasputin aka Magik, who has appeared near him after fleeing Limbo when challenged by S'ym one of the demons of Limbo, who have now been infected with the transmode virus. Magik is being offered as a slave at the local market. The Starjammers rescue Illyana, but have to escape back to their ship with no parts for repair.

At the dinner table Magik hurriedly explained what had happened, the latest baseball results and informs Corsair that he is a grand-father (see Uncanny X-Men issues 200 & 201). The Professor is hurt to learn about the Marauders attack on the Morlocks and how his X-Men have suffered casualties (See Uncanny X-Men # 211). She then tells him about Limbo, and how, when she drove the Soulsword into the floor, she woke up in space.

Magik also explains that she teleported the New Mutants to alternate future timelines. They begin to plan how to save the New Mutants. The professor, Lilandra and Binary accompany Magik as she teleports to rescue the rest of the team. In Limbo, the floor is covered in beautiful green grass and the sky is filled with clouds. However, the Soulsword is burning a pitch black. S'ym appears to taunt Magik, but Binary attacks him.

Magik is faced with the choice of pursuing S'ym or taking Xavier and company to rescue the time-lost mutants, and she chooses the latter. After happy reunions from both groups of New Mutants the group return to the Starjammer's ship in the present. But there's no rest for them: this is when Magus shows up.

Professor X immediately switches into Danger Room mode, ably showing where Cyclops learned to be a great tactician. Magus had been pounding the local planet apart, so Xavier sends Magma to the planet to hold it together, and he sends Magik to teleport deep into the planet's ocean so she can slice off one of Magus' appendages. Warlock finally finds the courage to fight his father but a direct assault isn't the right idea.

Instead, after getting energy restored by Binary Xavier is also mentally enhancing the powers of his students, letting Mirage and Karma distract their foe, Warlock and Cypher merge.
Binary flies over with Sunspot, and they use their strength to distract Magus' defences long enough for Warlock and Doug to sneak onto Magus and hit him with a computer virus.

Magus roars in pain, and finally explodes. Warlock safely transports Doug back to the Starjammer's ship.
Doug explaines that once he had decyphered the code that enabled Magus to form any shape, he was able to regress his programming.
He returned Magus to the Technarch as a baby waiting to be born.

    Quasar #33 April 1992
    Operation Galactic Storm part 10
Quasar pursues a Shi’ar starship that holds a captive Captain Atlas of the Kree and the Nega-Bands. He drills into the ship’s hull and demands the return of Captain Atlas and the Nega-Bands.
The Shi’ar fearing the destruction of their ship (since the vast majority of them cannot breathe in a vacuum) release Atlas,
but they are unable to hand over the Nega-Bands because they had already transmitted them to a Shi’ar world.
On the way out Quasar damages the ship’s star-drive. Meanwhile, Captain Marvel leader of the Avengers envoy requests to speak to Empress Lilandra of the Shi'ar.

Later, as Quasar and Captain Atlas (who is now Quasar’s prisoner) attempt to locate the Nega-Bands they encounter Binary who is currently serving the Shi’ar Empire.

Binary claims that Quasar’s actions may cause the deaths of millions of lives and serves to distract Quasar long enough

for members of the Imperial Guard to ambush him and gate him to an unknown sector of space. Captain Atlas is later rescued from the Shi’ar by Shatterax also of the Kree.

    Thor #446 April 1992
    Operation Galactic Storm part 14
Having finally made it to the Shi'ar throneworld, the Avengers find themselves unwelcome by everyone: the Imperial Guard are antagonistic for various reasons, Prime Minister Araki is more concerned with the needs of his Empire than the needs of one insignificant backwater planet, and even Empress Lilandra is more concerned with wartime protocol than welcoming Terran guests. Thor's recent hotheadedness returns, infuriating Lilandra and ending their meeting.

Captain Marvel is likewise infuriated with Thor and rebukes his lack of maturity. The Kree Starforce, delayed by Ronan's recent run-in with Iron Man, finally arrive and begin searching for Lilandra to exact vengeance for the deaths of Ael-Dan and Dar-Benn. The Starforce and Imperial Guard start to battle, with the Avengers caught in the middle.

The Avengers side with the Imperial Guard and eventually triumph over the Starforce.

Seeing the Avengers' willingness to fight for her safety reminds Lilandra of the higher duties of life over territorial greed. She calls for the return of the Nega-bomb, but it is too late: as Wonder Man and Vision discover, the Skrulls have commandeered it and are ready to detonate it in Kree space.
