Lex experimenting on her without her consent was more than enough to justify her hatred. They are basically retroactively downgrading Lex. All those years it wasn't Lex genius challenging Superman but Lena's.

To be fair it a team effort, like Wozniak and Jobs, Lex being Jobs in this situation.

Dropped, no interest in seeing Lex getting this horrifically jobbed so that Lena no name Luthor could get some piece of the pie. This book retconned away all of Lex's actual accomplishments to prop Lena, bad enough they killed Lois to prop Lana and now this, enough is enough.

This was a fun issue overall but I do hope we speed the story up a bit. Lena's a fun threat to build up but it's unlikely anyone else will want to use the character (or this specific iteration) after this story. Assuming they even can. She'll probably be cured of whatever insanity the Mother Box tech etc... is doing to her by the end.
