First of, let me start by saying that I personally have no issue with how Wonder Woman is drawn, and that this thread is simply for the sake of discussion on the matter.


That said, following the recent events with Wonder Woman being "removed" as the UN's rrepresensative due to a petition (a stupid/immature one really) for her having "unrealistic" proportions, it begs the question, what if. What if she had a more... natural physique. Far from fat, mind you, but more "1900s fit/athetic built". For instance, as illustrated by, the late great, Frank Frazetta:

Yeah, I agree that it could look weird considering her kind of activities. But I'm all pro diverse bodies for super-heroes in general.

That depends on which type of athlete you have in mind. Figure athletes are still athletes.

It's a tricky question. I'd probably prefer to see Wonder Woman drawn with a healthy, athletic body. Probably closer to someone like Jesse Graff or Ronda Rousey than say a female gymnast which tend to be a bit leaner. I quite like her build when drawn by Cliff Chiang.

Of course, irrespective of what body shape Diana has, it ultimately comes down to the individual artist as to how Wonder Woman is depicted (i.e. Wonder Woman can be drawn as cheesecake / for the benefit of the male gaze just as easily when she has the body of a lingerie model as when she has a more "normal" body shape).

I think my favorite versions of wonder woman have been from fan artists. I dont mind her being thinner since she's been that more often than not but i prefer her to have some muscle and a bigger build in general.
