Are the Grapnel Gun and the Batclaw the same thing/object?

I'm thinking about the contents of the belt (which I know is almost a running gag, with what it can hold). I wasn't sue of this is a 2 in 1 gadget.

Pretty much, in the Arkham games they are treated one in the same(I believe the Batclaw is an upgrade for the Grapnel gun, allowing stuff like collecting trophies from a distance or using it in combat to pull enemies towards you).
