I dont remember the exact issue number but if I remember right it takes place in the green lantern series just after the blackest night when hal is hanging around sinestro larfreeze which makes Barry concerned and he makes a visit. He even gets possessed by parallax in the bargain who used his fear for hals safety to possesss him.

    I'd say Barry personally.

In this analogy, it'd be Barry, analytical and reserved. Where as Ollie is the McCoy, always being led by his emotions.

I voted Oliver. With Hal and Barry I always liked the story from post Green arrows rebirth where Ollie mentions Hal loosing Barry was like loosing a brother. Thats what I see them as pretty much. You might love your brother and do everything for him, but often he is not your BEST friend.

This is a poll I would love to see broken down by age of the respondents. I would be willing to bet that Ollie voters tend to be the ones who grew up on 70s and 80s era comics and Barry voters tend to be either younger or (possibly) even older.

Are you kidding? They practically hated each other during the (non-retconned) satellite era.

Interestingly enough, the Green Arrow/Hawkman feud began in comics when one of the writers (I think it was Elliot S! Maggin but I could be wrong), thought it would be interesting to have a McCoy/Spock dynamic in JLA and decided to write Ollie as McCoy and Kater as Spock.

I think he wants to point out that jl was not as much a closely knit group as he is saying.

    Not always.

And I think it was during the Steve Englehart run where they went from antagonists / political opposites to drinking buddy types (with both Black Canary and Hawkgirl/woman unable to figure that one out).
