I'm more irked that they took The Hobbit (which was one of the shortest of the books) and turned it into three movies.

I'd like to say that irked me too, but it would be a total lie. I would watch as much as I possibly could of that world being realised on screen like that; I would watch a documentary on the role of Shirrifs in the Shire, or an Archaeological dig at Fornost. I'm not proud of this though.

As for Gin and tonic (can't believe I'm talking about booze after Saturday), I have two theories about it, A- it's so refreshing, it can sober you up after drinking beers, and B- it's probably one of the more reliable and cost-effective drinks to drink at the airport and on a plane.

And the new fangled frame rate that was supposed to revolutionize cinema. lol

I don't notice. Then again, I only have human eyes.

I also refuse to see a film in 3D unless is was actually filmed in 3D. The re-release of the original Star Wars trilogy in 3D is a travesty. What? So now I can watch Greedo shoot first in more than 2 dimensions? That's just too many degrees of wrong.

Not to mention IMAX-3D. I've refused to see any of them in the theater. Waiting for cable/Netflix instead.

As far as the Hobbit is concerned (at least after 2 movies) you're not going to miss much on the smaller 2D experience. Rivendale, maybe. I'd say quite the opposite concerning the Lord of the Rings movies, though. There was a lot that need a movie screen to fully appreciate.

And no, it didn't need to be cut in 3. Asinine, really.

The 48fps made everything look like a soap opera.
What's even worse is that the movie was released in more formats because of it.
