Same old same old. Working on an origin for Champions Online character that was suggested here. I always have good vague ideas, but getting them down in detail can be both fun and tedious at the same time!

Eh...it's no different than setting up a D&D campaign. It's an arduous task, but must be done.

Tomorrow I got tickets to see Patton Oswalt & Friends. Woo!

Some of them are pretty good, but yeah that Donald is downright frightening.

I'm surprised there were tickets still available. That show usually sells out quickly. This will be my 7th time seeing him.

I just watched the CBGB film on Starz.

    I found the film. . . boring?

even with a good cast, it just wasn't very exciting for a "biography"

and the folks playing the musicians were distracting. . .in particular, Rupert Grint as Cheetah Chrome of the Dead Boys. Just because he's a redhead doesn't mean he's a good fit for the part!

tho the guy playing Lou Reed was dead on -- as were the folks doing the Talking Heads.

(hence your "Life During Wartime" post triggering this thought. . .LOL

    snarkbunny started it:

Now I want you to design a Southern Belle supervillain/superhero pair.
    Paradox hemmed, then hawed:

Neat! I'll think on it. My first idea fails, though, which was to make Southern Bell, but there's no sonic powers set in Champions (just a handful of weak powers that you can attach a little sonic damage to).

EDIT: Rebel Yell would be good, too, but fails for the same reason.
    snarkbunny suggested:

What about martial arts with fans?
    Paradox was no help:

No fans, either. I'll think of something. I just can't really "create" at work. Too many interruptions and distractions.

I have a weird sort of a "Wikipedia link" creative process. Look this up, see if it sends me in another direction, follow to a detailed thing which leads me to another detailed thing, then a light bulb comes on and I go a completely different direction...it's about as non-linear as a left-brain dominant anal retentive can get.
Pól Rua was, as always, an idea font:

A flame-controlling heroine who's signature battle-cry is "Hot-lanta!" called Miss Scarlett, and her sidekick, a dapper martial artist called The Red Butler.
Play them like a kind of old-world Southern version of the John Steed/Emma Peel Avengers.
Donald M. tossed some ideas into the ring:

That would make their archenemies wicked pyrokinetic criminal mastermind General Sherman Burns and his evil army of henchmen, the Bluebelly Brigade, known for their battle cry, "The South will fall again!"
And it's done. I DID decide to go with my original thought. There's just enough sonic powers to work the theme, even if they're not the strongest around.

    Southern Bell

Former Atlanta debutante and electronics prodigy Tara Preston reeled at her grandmother's deathbed confession. In the early '60s, as a teen, she had been a...super-villain! Oh, in truth, she was more a prankster. As Greta Gadget she had harried a specific super-hero (she would not name him) and his friends to gain his attention because she had a crush on him. But when she finally revealed it to him, he unwittingly crushed her spirit, annoyed at the attentions of a "little girl". "Greta" retired, grew up, married and lived a normal life as wife and mother in Atlanta's social scene.

Tara's grandmother had willed her a box filled with parts to her old equipment. From these, Tara fashioned a force-field generator, a sonic pistol and a wrist mounted mini-rocket launcher. For the sheer love of adventure, she donned her old cotillion dress and a masquerade mask to become a scourge on Atlanta's criminal element as...Southern Bell!

Her wrist corsage "unfolds" as her rocket launcher:

    Force-field...ACTIVE!:

She's also a direct descendent of Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson. When the time is ripe, she shall have a couple of nemeses, Bluebelly and the Carpetbagger!
