My question that seems to mystify a lot of people is how will posters who want their community threads back ensure they wont gatekeep, slam or isolate ( via mass ignore) posters with different view points.

If you're being ignored, you're not saying interesting enough things! The MunchKING will tell you to buck up and get in there. MAKE them pay attention to you!! Be amazing!! Show them you are a worthy Rumbler!! (or whatever thread you're trying to join).

You could have gotten in on Downtown Kahzaan or RITAs. Nothing was keeping you out that didn't keep out Inyuyasha or any of those other noobs that came through.

It's cool to ruin our posting experience because someone doesn't like the new rules.

Like I've said, "Fast and hard" is how I post. I used to do this all the time.

Instead of wasting near 3 hours throwing a fit or protest he could have posted elsewhere and tried to make the place better.

I DID! This was just my main thing because the Rumbles board was moving so slow at the time. I posted in a bunch of the Comm threads too.

The Protest backfired. because all he did was make new friends with some of his or her cheerier mannerisms.

(Well usually anyway. Battles on DK or SO could get a little weird at times.)

That's why I said I would have liked to talk to Munchking on his old rumbles chat thread. He seemed like a pretty cool dude. You all seem alright. But this thread is captive breeding program, and most of the old posters aren't happy about being forced to post here.

I think most of us who have bothered to use the Mega Chat are friendly. We're just pissed.

I like to THINK I'm a cool dude. But you know. Massive ego and all. It's nice to have others confirm it.

I probably wouldn't have done a Board Wipe, but I understand why he did.

Eliminating all the Chat threads though wouldn't really help stop rape threats or anything though.

Besides, it wasn't really a tantrum. Tantrums are an outburst of negative emotions. For example a child screaming in anger and frustration.

I on the other hand was enjoying myself immensely. It wasn't a negative thing, It was Fun.

Well they did track down my facebook and myspace page. Which is spooky when you think about it.

And being hinted that we know what you really look like..is kind of offputting.

That is why The MunchKING doesn't use Facebook or Myspace.

but what happens when said poster says they like a character the collective doesn't and that person becomes ostracized for it. In an off topic thread.

You wait until the next batch of off-topic conversation comes around and jump on that?

Whatever. This why we can't have one thread. It gets taken over by one long, boring discussion.

You should be so lucky. usually it's lots of little one posts that don't connect with anything deep like a conversation.

Then I'd say that poster should go find another collective that isn't as small-minded as them. Go find a group who will accept that you have a differing opinion and not put up with the ostracizing group's crap. Because there were multiple collectives on this forum, so they didn't have to put up with people who act in such a manner.

Or just make his own clique out of the off-topic thread he's on. We couldn't get rid of "Jaw" no matter how hard we tried, until they got themselves all banned.

And that is the problem. people retreat to smaller groups..it doesn't solve the problem.

It sounds like you had one bad experience and are generalizing to all the other threads about it.

When I first started posting on CBR back in 2008, everyone wasn't my BFF the instant I showed up. They were kind of standoffish to me, but I kept posting, and I eventually went from "newcomer" to "regular". You can't just walk in and expect to be entitled to everyone instantly wanting to be your friend. You've got to converse with people and build up a rapport to become friends, even on the "cold and impersonal" internet. Which, if you think about it, is the great equalizer in socializing. Race, gender, sexual identity, weight, age, all of it vanishes when you're on the internet.

SOunds right to me! You wanted to get involved in the Rumbles's off topic threads you had be ready to hang with the Big Boys.

So, I tried reading the thread backwards, don't have all night to slide through 90+ Pages, and I can't exactly remember where the thread left off.

When I first showed up here at CBR in '97, I immediately jumped into the middle of a mock fight between two popular posters (fly on the wall and Johnny DC) as if I'd been there for months. Sometimes you just gotta push yourself off the dock and hope you can swim.

I'm actually the opposite. I used to cruise old threads at CBR quite frequently in moments of boredom at work, but if they're gone, hey, they're gone. But being through it before many times helps the old perspective.

I used to cruise the old fight threads in rumbles all the fricking time...

But as this is like the fourth Board Crash I've been around for... Eh. I'm kinda blasé about it.

Exactly. New people happened upon Rita's all the time and some found it not to their liking, but we were never deliberately non-inclusive to anyone who didn't earn the treatment.

Its a problem that is across the industry, especially in the superhero genre, on how women are drawn and presented. People should want to draw them as something other than fuckable bags of meat.

Does ANYONE (out side of actual porn comics) actually stick their butt straight at the camera and grab their cheeks like the Hulk there? I mean the rest are the standard stuff, but I've never seen anyone actually do the Hulk pose.
