It's rainy down here in Houston too. I think we had tornado warnings in the counties next to mine.

It's too bad it has to rain on a holiday there.

I used to live in a tornado area myself (Denver) but never really experienced being close to one. Closest was being within earshot of the warning sirens.

I love rain when it causes work stoppages, don't like it so much if I'm in the Pacific Rim where I have to use public transportation or drive on slippery roads to get to work.

Due to inclement weather problems, we lost two days of school back in February. In order to compensate for that, we lost Memorial Day off so that teachers could make up for lost instructional time.

Ah, that explains it. It's too bad it has to be Memorial Day, guess I'm somewhat biased towards the significance of the holiday itself.

In other news, I'm amused by some reader arguments in CNN on whether it's safer to be in Bangkok or Chicago at this moment in time.

Yeah, he seemed to be pretty much in awe at the whole thing. But then, the whole 'this movie sucked' rants that he usually goes on, are more an act than anything else.

I dunnno he seemed to be REALLY ragging on Spiderman 2.
