Oh, yes, just not several entire towns like out on the plains. It's more like a big space laser cut a ten mile path a few hundred yards wide. And the wind will do weird things. When I was a kid, we had one come through and knock down all the trees on one side of the street, but didn't even budge people's patio furniture on the other.

Most of them hit in fairly rural areas (there being more of that than urban), but this is the one that came straight through town in '80. I wasn't here for it. I lived less than a mile from the path, but I was off in Fort Wayne visiting a buddy (ended up seeing it on the news, which took me to WTFville very quickly ).

Wow, that is some crazy stuff. I guess I should consider myself fortunate to not live in a tornado-prone area, much less experience one firsthand.

Just out of curiosity, do you know if homes in those areas are primarily constructed of wood, or concrete?

Homes? Definitely woodframe. You'll find some concrete structures in some apartment buildings and commercial buildings but mostly wood in individual homes (occasionally brick, but that's a lousy insulator so not many around).

Earthquakes can be scary. But tornadoes, if they are like the ones Paradox describes, that is more scary!

I never witnessed a twister, I'm thankful for that
And sorry for anyone who had losses in such events

You should never feel like any part of Asia is better than others.

Sometimes the bad feelings some have are just because they are from different parts of a same country.

You are a good person and very intelligent! You have much to be proud of, no matter what country you are from

How is or was your day?
