I was booted out pretty hard by CBR. To space and back. This taught me to love the CBR. To cherish the New CBR. Its why I will stand guard and make sure no one destroys this place now. And after that.....we will hug.

Spain did intervene because they were very closely allied with France at the time. So did the Dutch (although they weren't related like Spain was). I don't think that there were any other credible rivals to Britain at the time.

The trick would be if France didn't exist as a country who would have taken over the land where France was?

I'd been assuming England grabbed it in one of their many Wars with France.

You can ignore France and pretend some other country would have done exactly the same thing. Or you can refer to actual history. Your choice.

So, you reference an Alternate History Postulate (That France doesn't exist would mean no America) and then you insist on no deviations fro the original history when we try to work out the Scenerio??

That seems... Counterintuitive at best.

Hya Bert.
Been with a very hunky comic book fan and prison social worker for almost exactly 2 years now. He only lives 30 miles away this time, not 5000 like the last one.
Got some career troubles, but I am sure if I just keep smiling, hugging and sending positive vibes I will find something better again soon.

glad to hear about the boyfriend (Nick and I celebrated our 10th Anniversary in January, and next week we take the trip to celebrate -- we're hitting 5 theme parks thruout Pennsylvania! Start in Pittsburgh, end in Philadelphia. We postponed the trip until all the parks were open for the Summer Season ).

Sorry to hear about the career troubles. . .and I know you're being sarcastic (you too SuperE), but Do keep a positive attitude.
