These last couple of days have been horrible for Morna and I. I took this photo last summer of our kittens Kodos and Kang. Kang (on the right) hasn't been eating lately so we took him to the vet yesterday. The vet found a lump in his abdomen and we took him to the pet hospital for x-rays, ultrasounds, etc. He has lymphoma, which is a cancer that has already spread into several lymph nodes and his pancreas. The choices were $8,000 of more for aggressive chemotherapy, with a 30% chance of recovery or bring him home to spend a wee bit of time with his brother and euthanize within 48hours. Tomorrow we say goodbye. He would have been two years old in August. It's just so fucking unfair.

Added bonus? Today is Morna's birthday. (sarcasm)

I am so sorry for your loss, Gary. Pass my sympathies onto Morna as well, please.

It is a big deal, our pets love us and trust us and we have the responsibility to do what is best for them, even when we hate it. You did the right thing, and I am so sorry that you had to. Kang was a terrific cat.

That said, the whole point of a board like this is to make new acquaintances based on a shared interest, in this case comics and things related to them. I get the feeling that he or she has been around for a while but just adjusting to the changes on the boards and new faces around due to the massive chat thread for the board as a whole. But to be fair that's pure speculation.

I'm a loner but in an altruistic sense... if I were a true loner of loners I would even be posting on a forum/site like this one. I actually have fun talking to random people I don't know personally.
