The X-forum still has the "tribalist" subculture feel that Cronin rails against in the OP of this thread. How was that forum allowed to go so far downhill in only a few days? Can we petition for new mods or something?

The only thing I see off about the x-forums is the preponderance of appreciation threads that were previously tamped down in a subforum, away from delicate eyes.

There is a difference between trying to invalidate a person's argument based on a failed ad-hominem or appeal to knowledge and disagreeing with them. You are failing to make that distinction. I am not trying to say your argument is invalid, instead I am simply disagreeing with it. The latter is civil, the former is not.
