If high school is the best time of your life, you should probably just give up the ghost after. For most, high school is either a nightmare or a boring way to take up 3-4 years. Certainly one shouldn't aspire to have high school be the best time of your life.

In short, high school sucks. It won't have very much to do with your adult life after. It's to be endured and then forgotten.

Oh, and your "permanent record"? Unless you're applying to an Ivy League college, no one gives a ****.

I keep getting invited to High School reunions.

I have no interest in seeing most of those folks ever again.

a friend linked me to the FB page for the reunions. . and I actually had a physical reaction to seeing some of the names! Not that I interacted with many of them anyways -- in HS, I stuck with my core group of friends, and I remain in touch with most of them).

but still. .seeing names I hadn't thought of in over 20 years?. .no thanks.

The funniest is seeing the girls who thought they were clearly getting the school hero realize , years later he's a wash out in life. I saw so many on FB who have divorced their husbands and found other guys once the dream ended. (In my town it was a pretty big number lol)

Also the saddest is the ones who turned to drugs and ruined their lives. One girl I massively had a crush on but she was one of the girls who never sadly gave me the time of day. Imagine seeing in a newspaper she was busted for drugs and seeing her mug shot all doped up. It was sad...my image as a 16 year old SuperE shattered forever...

On one hand, it's monochrome, so that should make it optimize fairly easily. On the other hand, there's way too many frames for that kind of thing. And ultimately, you'd have to have software that would pull it apart into individual frames, and then remake it pretty much completely. "Shrinking" ani .gifs isn't a one-two-three snap like stills, I'm afraid.

Speaking of HS , another sad instance where i felt pretty down was a girl I knew then died a couple months ago. I believe it was due to drugs and she had issues with it over the years since school . Now we never got along in school , she would tease me and all. But it was sad seeing someone you knew then ...find out they passed away.

Oh, and if you did want to try and do it yourself, GIMP will take it apart at least. Putting it back together would be the chore without good software though. I'm lazy and use the free one I've had for years, UnFREEz, but it's VERY basic, requiring you to have the .gif frames already made and then plugging them in. It works, but it's limited, especially in that you can't individually time each frame, they all have to have the same delay time.

if you're not gambling, almost all casinos will not care if you walk thru.

so YES, you can take part in almost everything I listed (and remember, most casinos have Shows that are all ages, so yeah, they EXPECT that folks under 21 will be walking thru the casinos and looking at the displays, the shops, the art museums, etc. . . )

And now my UPS just started beeping. I have no idea why. I turned it off because the battery had died and it was just a glorified surge protector. I'd kinda assumed that turning it off would turn off any beeping.

ETA: Mystery half-solved. It's not my UPS; it's the smoke alarm. Which is plugged directly into the wiring so it shouldn't be beeping either, but it's something that I'll have to suffer through during the night because I'm too tired to play with electricity. Plus, it'll be kinda dark if I turn off the power there.

Photoshop CS2 is pretty good for putting GIFs back together and I think that it's freeware now. It does let you individually time frames.

I wonder if crapping random snippets of English text and some spam links onto a board like some of our spammers do has ever sold a product? I mean, you'd think it would or they'd give it up, but who sees that as a trustworthy place to obtain goods and services?

Can anyone explain Iggy Azalea to me? I mean, yeah, she's talented and a fine performer, but how does she get away with being a VERY white Aussie girl faking an accent like she was brought up in the hood in Atlanta? Seems like she'd get a lot of crap for being a "fake" and "cultural appropriator", similar to Vanilla Ice. But then, maybe she does; I'm not exactly heavy into what hiphop fandom has to say.
