Wow. Although I don't care much for the line-up, Mann is consistently good. Domino would look better if she was all in black though, but I get that that would not fit with the team colours.

I don't get why Pryde is crawling on the ground though.
I couldn't see Pixie on an X-force team, unless it was her Age of X counterpart. Or Kitty for that matter.
But yes, Kitty could have been positioned better.

I like the idea, sans Kitty. I really hope she gets to be less Mother hen and more Logan-san trained warrior in the future. Maybe with her forthcoming costume change...although with Anka designing it the look will most likely be a hoodie style something and beige.
I adored Pixie in New X-men, I really wish they would undue the Land progression of her age though. The Young young version looked and talked like she was about 12 or 13, shouldn't everyone have aged as much as she?

No one would dare insult the Queen! Those who would, I will only assume are incompetent and have no sort of self-appreciation for themselves.

Anyways all hail the Claremazons! They are way more interesting than the male X-Men! (Well except Jubliee of course!)

How can I get Mann to draw me a commission of my own! Do I need to attend one of those comic-con events? Or does he take commissions online as well?

This what happens when you assume only gross guys want to read about the X-Women. Not a marvelous idea.
There were definitely elements of this seem to objectify women but overall I still enjoyed the issue

it would be awesome for a non-broken Emma to start her own young X-men female squad...leaving her clones behind though. The way they showed her teaching style in the past "lick the electrical outlet once, you'll learn" style is great.
Jubilee could be good, she had a lot of growth and potential way back when. Sad to read (an old X-position) that Wood wants to return her powers and remove the vamp but it sounds like editorial is pteventing it. He even comments on the power being her iconic mark, which is why it is on ever cover with her.

You can try to catch him at a convention, yes. My commission linked here was done at home in his studio, though, and arranged by http://www.comicsketchart.com/.

Here's the same team, with the addition of Rogue, handling a sentinel attack on Utopia. Art by Daniel Govar on 6 connecting blank comic book covers.

Quite honestly, I prefer her as a vampire. It leads to more interesting story possibilities if the writers could just pull it off. Kathryn Immonen and Marjorie Liu did good things with it.

I have never read it. But I am sure the story is good, it's just the art that is repellent. It's like Greg Land style. The women all look way too pornographic with their poses and expressions. It makes the book seem tacky.

When I first saw the images for the artwork I didnt quite understand why it was drawn that way. If you can get beyond the art ots a nice read... but I totally agree it definitely comes off as tacky

Well, that's to be expected when you consider the artist, Milo Manara, is best known for his erotic art and, according to his Wikipedia page, "producing comics that revolve around elegant, beautiful women caught up in unlikely and fantastical erotic scenarios".

Here's a relevant snippet from an article on the book:

For the story of "X-Women," a major driving factor in deciding what kind of story Claremont would tell came from the selection of Manara, who's best known for his erotic work in Europe. And while "X-Women" doesn't fall into that category, the writer had no problems finding a way to tell a story with his characters that fit the artist's strengths. "He has a certain affection for presenting figure 'au naturale' as they say – or as they said when I was a kid, 'starkers,'" the writer laughed. "And the utterly intriguing, amusing thing is how close he comes throughout the book in terms of presenting the character...how he just gets as close as he can to crossing over Marvel's line of disapproval but not quite. At the same time, he gets away with presenting the characters in all the glory Milo loves to do so. And I think it's wonderful."

It was cheeky, not tacky. Greg Land is tacky. And no one was dissing Emma. I just said the X-Gals didn't want to rescue her at first [because she's a bitch]. Which she is. Which is the defining character trait her fans seem to love. I was appreciating Claremont's adherence to proper characterization.

Let the flames destroy all but that which is pure and true!

Well to be fair, I think all the ladies (Rogue especially) were heavily intoxicated (I don't think Storm was since she rarely drinks) when they were talking smack about Emma. It was enjoyable nonetheless.

It was great! A solid dose of Claremontian goodness after a long, bleak desert of Fractionland!

Anything Claremont does is light years better than today's comics (Also Fraction's era, ugh.)

I'm curious now, is Storm still sober? I remember she told Forge in LifeDeath, that she didn't drink but than couldn't get enough champagne when he convinced her to. Has she drank anytime after that?
