If they end up cutting Romo, it won't speed things up as they will wait and make him a June 1 cut to spread the cap hit over 2 years instead of one. He counts over $19 mill if cut before then, but only $12.7 this year and the rest next year if he's cut after June 1. If he isn't traded (which, really who's going to take that salary with his injury history), he will linger on the roster until June 1 and not be able to sign with another team until after the first round of OTA's are done.
