Why doesn't the Scarlet Witch just join the X-men ?

Debatable how "popular" the character is INSIDE the comic-buying community. My fistpump for the potential of Liz Olsen's character is usually met with derision by Wanda's fans. What you say about silver age nonsense is absolutely true and its laughable what people cling to.

OUTSIDE of the comics community, where people only know her character form the movies, I think they really like her. And the YouTube critics are very interested in the storytelling potential in the Disney+ series. I come at this thinking she's a great bridge character for girls who are uncomfortable with fisticuffs and kicking... and like pink and dresses and magic spells and Wanda shows there's superheroes for all kinds. I have a 3 year old niece in love with Elsa, and the similarities exist.

In any case, "the pretender" is a reality warper, and I'm all for a Marvel continuity reset with her as a magical creature and NOT a mutant. It's just messy, and keeps getting messier.

Wanda needs a major reboot. But I'm sure they'd make a mess of the lore again. Marvel can't help themselves.

Her series tapping more into witchcraft than straight up superheroing was the way to go with her imo.
