Default CBR's 2016 Top 100 Comics of All Time

    Hi All,

So as I was looking through "CBR's 2016 Top Comic Book Runs of All Time" I started marking down which runs I actually read & owned.

    Here is the master list...

    http://www.cbr.com/2016-top-comic-bo...e-master-list/

Overall I own 27/100. Going on 28 once I get all my FF Omibus' in...

My collection is very Marvel heavy, so I am definitely missing out on some of the other titles.

Anyone else care to share their number? Titles they think should have appeared but didn't make the cut?

Personally I would have liked to seen Busiek's Thunderbolts make an appearance.

Fear agent, Sleeper, LoEG, Ennis' Hellblazer, O'neills Iron man (IMHO it's better than Michelinie-Layton stuff which is also great) Sandman Mystery Theatre, Rosa Duck books, New Frontier etc etc. And no Watchmen? Or Sandman?

This countdown was for extended runs, not mini series (there were some other caveats as well) which is why theres no watchmen, etc. Sandman was #2

Edit: Did a quick tally, and I've either completely read/own 31 of them, and have partially read/own another 17. So about half. Of the remaing 50 or so, about half of those i have no interest in, and the other half patiently waiting release in a preferred format.

    I've read/own 31 of those runs...

I have another 35 of them sitting in my "To Read" pile.

So this list has prompted me to try out some new material.

I decided to pick up Fables, Y The Last Man, & Planetary.

Pretty much a Marvel guy but am finding a lot of interesting titles outside of the super-hero genre that I really want to try.

Tallying up I have read 82 from the list. I have passed on the Johns Flash omnis numerous times and this list has me curious now. I will be reading Cerebus and Love&Rockets soon. Interesting that Azzarello's Wonder Woman is in there but no John's Aquaman. I thought it was considered the better title from the reboots.

Raising my eyebrow with some of the titles in there. Bru/Fraction/Aja's Iron Fist is better than Fraction/ Aja's Hawkeye. No Lone Wolf and Cub? Deux Ex Machina? Moore's Top10 or LXG gets snubbed? Brubaker's The Fade out is better than a handful of titles included. Its a borderline crime not to have included Terry Moore titles in there.

Anyways, that list will always change every time. Oh well, looking forward to discovering the titles I haven't had the chance to check out yet.

There is a lot of great stuff from Vertigo and some from Wildstorm. Planetary, Authority, Sleeper are amazing reads IMHO from WS, Hellblazer (at least from Ennis), Y, Ex Machina, Fables, Sweet Tooth, Sandman Mystery theatre, Scalped are all great.

I wish I could read planetary again for the first time. So amazing.

I've either read or owned 21 stories out of that list, as the rest is cluttered up by independents and/or Vertigo titles that I've never really cared for.

The only clutter in the list is all that Marvel and DC crap they included

I've read and/or own 25 or so from the list.

Of the remaining, I would like to purchase/read the following:

    Will Eisner’s “The Spirit”
    Mark Gruenwald’s “Captain America”
Steve Englehart, Marshall Rogers and Terry Austin’s “Detective Comics”
    John Byrne’s “Superman”
Tom King and Gabriel Henrandez Walta’s “Vision”
Denny O’Neil and Denys Cowan’s “The Question”
Geoff Johns and Scott Kolins’ “Flash”
    Roger Stern’s “Avengers”
    Jeff Smith’s “Bone”
    Peter David’s “Incredible Hulk”
    James Robinson’s “Starman”

Honestly I prefer the list they did a few years back. IDK how Scalped ends up at the bottom when everyone else praises it to the heavens
