Default Help naming a 90s (or 80s) animated film

I am going to take a stab at asking this… in the 90s (could also be the 80s) there was an animated film where a world need saving from an evil character that looked like Mick Jagger but it was prophesied that no one voice could defeat him. However in the end it was 2 voices (a duet) of a guy and girl (the heroes) that defeated him.

Does anyone know what film this was?

Apologies for vagueness and spoilers for anyone that may want to watch this but this is all I remember.

Rock and rule. Marvel did a comic based on it.

Man, it's always nice when things go that smoothly.

    Kudos to Gaastra.

Animation reminds me a lot of Heavy Metal...

Kids, do NOT watch Heavy Metal. At least until your older.

Nelvana Studios from Canada. Did a lot of cool animation.
There came a time when the Old Gods died! The Brave died with the Cunning! The Noble perished locked in battle with unleashed Evil! It was the last day for them! An ancient era was passing in fiery holocaust!

They actually offered them the chance to work on Heavy Metal. They declined to work on Rock & Rule.

Kirby101 is right about them doing a bunch of stuff. I think they did some work on Inspector Gadget and almost all of the Wild C.A.T.s animated series.

They also did ewoks, droids, Beetlejuice, neverending story, little bear, magic school bus, strawberry shortcake and care bears!

or... you could just skip it altogether. "Heavy Metal" doesn't really age well IMO - and it clearly has a target audience that a lot of us... never fit into in the first place.

That explains why the WildC.A.T.S. had to retrieve something from Canada once. Well, just Jacob Marlowe, but it's nice to see an Easter Egg.

There's 2, well, 3 three reasons why people watch it. The first two pop out in almost every arc, while the other is for the music.

I love "Rock & Rule!" Great music by real names, very good animation, and a great villain in Mok! Best post-apocalyptic, punk inspired rock fable ever put on celluloid.
