I've been thinking about starting this thread for a while. I briefly belonged to a TED Talks club and rather enjoyed it. If you're not familiar, it's like a book club - but with TED Talks. The idea is that once each week someone posts a TED Talk link and anyone can watch and we can discuss it. That particular TED Talk would be the topic of discussion for that particular week - until the following Friday evening/Saturday morning (depending on where people live) when someone will be chosen (we can take turns) and that person can choose and post a new TED Talk for discussion.
Anyone at any time during the week, can watch the link and jump into the conversation. All are welcome.

I'll make the first choice:

And open the discussion:
The speaker talks about how polarized the political parties are in America. I believe that this situation is the result of the Conservative Parties efforts over the last few decades to solidify their voting base by using hot button issues like abortion and immigration. Several elections worth of hyperbolic rhetoric by their media outlets like Fox News and personalities like Rush Limbaugh have contributed to a narrow view of right and wrong in the minds of conservative voters.

Thoughts?
