    Default Castlevania: The Animated Series

Netflix announces an adult orientated animated series based on the classic video game series. Warren Ellis wrote it and is the producer. The Show is based on Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse.

Only thing I'm hoping is that the animation style is anything but CGI. Sounds like it's going to be Anime, and be in the vain of the old school violent anime films. IF so then Awesome, I say.

I think you really need an art style that really captures the look and feel of the art of the games themselves.

For the most part the Castlevania games have had a sort of anime style (Despite the box art of many of the releases). Some of the games have had manga-style cutscenes and character portraits, especially the stuff with Richtor Belmont and the portable games.

Of course Simon Belmont was also infamously featured in the 90's "Captain N" cartoon.

I wonder if they'll try to work on anything with their other big property, Metal Gear, although since Kojima left it's pretty much just been the Metal Gear Solid III gambling machine, and the upcoming Metal Gear survive (Which is pretty much just Solid V with co-op and zombies). As for an animated series, I suppose that could work-the PSP Metal Gear games had a sort of limited anime style to them (With some work done by Ashley Wood, who drew the comic adaptations of the first two Solid games).

I wonder if Ellis can do this, and Wild Storm, and not get fried.

Holy crap. Let me say right up front, I have not played any of the Castlevania games on the NES or SNES. I basically picked up my first Castlevania game where it was like a God of War game, but the kind of game Castlevania is intrigues me immensely.

This is absolutely awesome. I am looking forward to this. I started watching the the Cyborg 009 series created for Netflix, with the 3D animation. The animation is stiff as hell, but I'd take that over the crap being peddled on Disney XD for all the Marvel animation stuff.

I'm hoping the animation is like the second Vampire Hunter D Movie.

When I think of animation for the show, I kinda imagine this:

    ...just in motion.

    Loved this game.
